Windows Firewall settings are located in the Control Panel of Windows operating systems. To access the Windows Firewall settings, open the Start Menu and select “Control Panel”.
Once the Control Panel is open, click on the “System and Security” link. This will open a window showing all the system and security options available in Windows. In this window, select “Windows Firewall”.
This will open the Windows Firewall settings window, which has four tabs at the top – “General”, “Exceptions”, “Advanced”, and “Logging”.
The General tab of the Windows Firewall settings window controls basic settings for the firewall, such as whether it should be enabled or disabled, and whether to trust networks connected to the computer. It also has options to allow remote desktop connections and other services to connect through the firewall.
The Exceptions tab allows specific programs and services to be added or removed from the list of applications allowed to pass through the firewall. If a program or service is listed here, Windows Firewall will allow it to communicate with the Internet and other computers on the network.
The Advanced tab is where you can manage advanced settings for Windows Firewall, such as configuring the firewall to block certain types of incoming traffic or to enforce authentication requirements.
Finally, the Logging tab shows a log of events related to the Windows Firewall, such as when programs or services have been blocked by the firewall.
In addition to the Windows Firewall settings available in the Control Panel, Windows also includes a command line tool called “netsh” which can be used to view and configure the settings for the firewall.
