The sound settings are found within the control panel of your operating system. Depending on your operating system, these settings can be accessed in a variety of ways:
For Windows XP, Vista and 7
1) Click on the Start Menu, then open Control Panel.
2) Once the Control Panel window opens, click on Sounds and Audio Devices.
3) Select the Hardware tab, then select your audio device.
4) In the Sound Playback section, select a default device or set volume levels for each device.
5) Check Mark the Show Volume Control On The Taskbar- for easy access adjustments.
6) In the Volume Control section you can adjust master volume levels and individual app level settings by selecting the Advanced button.
7) In the Options section, you can also select Properties to further customize your sound settings.
For Windows 8
1) Right-click on the taskbar and select Properties.
2) In the Taskbar and Navigation Properties window, select the Navigation tab.
3) Under the Start screen section, check the box that says Show app commands on the Start Screen.
4) Open the Charms bar (press Windows key + C).
5) Select Search and type ‘sound’.
6) Select Change system sounds option under Settings.
7) Here you can select a default device or set volume levels for each device.
8) Check Mark the Show volume control on the taskbar – for easy access adjustments.
9) In the Volume Control section you can adjust master volume levels and individual app level settings by selecting the Advanced button.
10) In the Options section, you can also select Properties to further customize your sound settings.
For Mac OS X
1) Click on the Apple icon at the top left of the menu bar.
2) Select System Preferences.
3) Click on the Sound Monitor icon.
4) Here you can adjust the volume level, select a default output device, and select different input sources.
5) You can also further customize your sound settings by clicking the Output tab or Input tab.
6) In the Output tab you can adjust the balance between left and right speakers, toggle among different audio formats and select the Dolby Digital Output.
7) In the Input tab you can select the desired input device, choose a format for analog input, adjust the input level and enable noise reduction.
