What’s SWP file and how to clean them safely?

SWP means swap.

SWP is a file extension for a swap file used by various operating systems (Windows or Linux).

SWP files are located on a computer’s hard drive and it used by the virtual memory component of the computer to increase available memory.

SWP files can be cleaned safely to free up your disk space.

To clean SWP files, Please follow the below steps:

  1. Run WinUtilities Disk Cleaner
  2. Click Options, Select Junk Files tab
  3. Check “*.swp” in categories
  4. Click OK to save your settings
  5. Return to WinUtilities Disk Cleaner wizard and click Scan Now
  6. Follow the wizard to find and clean swp files safely
