The easiest way to compress a large file in Windows is to use the built-in file compression tool called File Explorer. This tool has the ability to compress and decompress files in the ZIP file format. Select the file or folder you want to compress and then right-click it. Select “Send to” and then “Compressed (zipped) folder.” A new zip file will be created within the same folder as the one being compressed. The name of the original file will be appended with .zip. To decompress, double-click the zip file, and all its contents will be extracted into the same folder. It is also possible to use third-party applications to compress larger files if File Explorer does not offer enough features.
