How to check if Windows Defender is running?

Windows Defender is a security feature in Windows that helps protect your computer from malicious software such as viruses, spyware, and other malicious programs. It is an important part of your computer’s security system and it should be kept running at all times to ensure optimal protection of your system. If you want to check if Windows Defender is running on your computer, there are a few different methods you can use.

One way to check if Windows Defender is running is to open the Windows Start menu and type “Windows Defender” into the search bar. If Windows Defender appears in the results list, you can click on it to open the program. Once open, you should be able to see if it is currently running or not. You can also check the status of Windows Defender in the Control Panel. Click on the “System and Security” link and then select “Windows Defender”. On the right side of the screen, you should be able to see if Windows Defender is running or not.

Another way to check if Windows Defender is running is to open the Task Manager. To do this, press the “Ctrl”, “Alt” and “Delete” keys simultaneously. This will open the Task Manager window. In the Task Manager window, click on the “Processes” tab. In the Processes list, you should see a process called “MsMpEng.exe” which is the name of the Windows Defender program. If the Status column for this process reads “Running”, then Windows Defender is running on your computer.
