Unzipping a ZIP file in Windows is an easy process. It can be completed in just a few steps.
1. Locate the ZIP file you want to unzip.
The first step is to find the ZIP file you want to unzip. It may be that you have already downloaded it, or it could be in a folder on your computer. If you are unsure of its exact location, use the search feature of your computer to find it.
2. Right-click on the ZIP file.
Once you have located the ZIP file, right-click on it with your mouse. A drop-down menu should appear.
3. Select “Extract All…” from the menu.
At the bottom of the drop-down menu, select Extract All…. This will open a new window titled “Compressed (zipped) Folders Extraction Wizard”.
4. Choose the destination folder.
In the “Compressed (zipped) Folders Extraction Wizard”, you will be prompted to choose a destination folder for the files. You can select one of the folders in the list, or create a new one by clicking the New Folder button. Once you have chosen a destination folder, click the Next button.
5. Choose if you want to create a new folder for extracted files.
You will now be asked if you want to create a new folder for the extracted files. If you select Yes, a new folder with the same name as the ZIP file will be created in the destination folder and all the files will be placed inside it. If you select No, the files will be placed directly into the destination folder. When you have made your selection, click the Next button.
6. Begin the extraction process.
After you have set all the options for extraction, click the Finish button to start the extraction process. The files will be extracted and placed into the selected folder. There may be a brief wait while the files are being extracted.
7. Open the extracted files.
When the extraction process has finished, you can open the folder containing the extracted files. From there, you can move or copy them to wherever you wish.
