If you are running Windows 2000 or newer then it is quite easy to turn off the Windows clock sound. To do this, follow the steps below:
1. Open the Start menu and click on Control Panel.
2. Once in the Control Panel, double-click on the Sounds and Audio Devices icon.
3. This will open up the Sound and Audio Devices window.
4. In the Sounds tab, locate the Windows clock entry in the Program Events list.
5. Now select the entry and choose ‘None’ from the Sounds drop-down menu.
6. Click Apply and then OK to save the changes.
That’s all there is to it – your Windows clock sound will now be silenced. If you wish to re-enable it at some point, simply follow the same steps and select a different sound from the drop-down list.
Note that if you are running an older version of Windows, the process may differ slightly. However, the basic steps remain the same – you will need to open the Control Panel, access the Sound and Audio Devices window, and select ‘None’ from the Windows Clock entry in Program Events to silence the sound.
