1. To save an image file in Windows, first open the image that you want to save. This can be done by either double clicking on the file, or right-clicking and selecting “Open”.
2. Once the image is open, click on the “File” menu located at the top left corner of the window. From the drop-down menu, select “Save As”.
3. The “Save As” window will then appear. Here you can select a folder where you would like the image to be saved and also give the image file a name. You can also select the file format from the “Save as type” drop down menu. Popular formats include .jpg for photographs, .bmp for graphic images and .png for logos or web graphics.
4. When you have completed all the necessary steps, click on the “Save” button to finish the process. You will then see a prompt letting you know the image has been successfully saved.
5. You can now use the image in any way you wish, such as sending it to someone via email, using it in a document or printing it out.
6. Alternatively, if you wish to save the image with a different file name, click on the “Save As” button again and follow the same steps. However, this time when you get to the “Save As” Window, select the “Save as type” option and choose a different file name. Then click “Save”.
7. If you need to save an image with the same name but a different file format, click on “Save As”, select the new file format under “Save as type” and click “Save”. It is important to remember to give the image a different name when doing this, as the image will replace the existing image with the same name in the same location.
8. Images can also be saved from websites as long as you have permission from the website owner. To do this, right-click on the image and select “Save Image As” from the drop-down menu. A “Save As” window will appear allowing you to save the image in the same way as outlined above.
9. Another way to save an image is to take a screenshot. To do this, simply press the “Prt Scr” button on your keyboard. This will copy your whole screen to the clipboard. Then open up a graphics program such as Paint and paste the screenshot in. Select “File” and then “Save As” to save the screenshot as an image file.
10. Whether you are saving from a website, taking a screenshot or using a photograph or logo, with Windows it’s easy to save an image file for any purpose. By following the steps outlined above, you can quickly and easily save an image file in no time.
