1. Open Windows Media Player by double-clicking the app icon on your computer’s desktop or by selecting it from your list of apps on your computer’s Start menu.
2. Click the “Library” tab at the top of the Windows Media Player window.
3. Select the “Video” option in the left column of the Library window.
4. Click on the “File” menu at the top of the window and select “Open”.
5. Browse to the video clip you want to play and double-click to open it.
6. If a “Codec Download” dialog box pops up during the opening process, click “Download” to install the necessary codec files.
7. The video clip should now be open in Windows Media Player.
8. To start playing the video clip, hit the Play/Pause button at the bottom of the window.
9. Adjust the playback speed by dragging the Speed slider up or down in the top-right corner of the window.
10. Adjust the volume by draggind the Volume slider located in the same area.
11. To pause playback, click the Play/Pause button again.
12. To advance through the clip, click the Fast Forward or Reverse buttons to move forward or backward.
13. To jump to a specific part of the clip, place your mouse cursor over the Progress Bar at the bottom of the window and click when you reach the desired time.
14. To expand the clip to full screen, click the Maximize button in the upper-right corner of the window. To resize the clip window, click and drag the borders around the window.
15. To take a snapshot of the video clip, click the Camera icon in the bottom-right corner of the window.
16. To open the video clip in a separate window, click the Window drop-down menu at the top of the window and select “Open in a Separate Window”.
17. To add video effects or captions, open the ‘Video’ tab in the top-left corner of the window and select ‘Advanced’. Then, choose the desired effect or caption from the options listed.
18. To view the video clip in slow motion, click the ‘Speed’ drop-down menu in the bottom-right corner of the window and select ‘Slower’.
19. To split the clip into multiple parts, open the ‘Clip’ tab in the top-left corner of the window, then click the link for the ‘Split’ tool.
20. Once you have made all the necessary adjustments, click the ‘Save As’ button in the bottom-right corner of the window to save the clip locally on your computer.
