1. Check the manufacturer website for the latest version of your scanner driver. If you don’t find a newer version, then you can use the version you have installed on your computer.
2. Open the Device Manager and right-click on the corrupt scanner driver. Select the “Update Driver” option to search for the latest version of the driver.
3. Uninstall the current version of the scanner driver through the Device Manager. Then attempt to reinstall the correct version of the driver using the installation CD that came with your scanner or from the manufacturer’s website.
4. If you are still having issues, try downloading a third-party driver update program such as DriverDoc or Driver Booster. These programs can automatically download and install the latest compatible drivers for your hardware.
5. If you are still having issues, try resetting the BIOS settings on your computer. Press the required key during startup to enter the BIOS setup menu. Once in the menu, look for an option called “Reset BIOS” or “Restore Defaults” and select it. Wait for the process to finish and then restart the computer.
6. If none of the above steps work, you may need to replace the corrupted driver with a new version. Download the right driver version for your scanner from the manufacturer’s website and follow the onscreen instructions.
7. If the problem persists, consider replacing the scanner with a newer model. Older scanners may not be compatible with the latest operating systems, so they may be prone to corruption. Also, newer scanners may be more reliable and effective in scanning documents.
