How do I extract a file in Windows?

There are a variety of ways to extract files in Windows, depending upon the type of file. Below are instructions for some of the most common types of files.

1. ZIP Files:

a. Right-click the ZIP file and select Extract All…
b. Follow the prompts to extract the files. This will create a new folder in the same directory as the ZIP that contains the files.

2. RAR Files:

a. Download and install an unzipping program such as WinRAR or 7-zip.
b. Right-click the RAR file and select the unzipping program you installed.
c. Follow the prompts to extract the files. This will create a new folder in the same directory as the RAR that contains the files.

3. EXE Files:

a. Double-click the EXE file.
b. Follow the prompts to extract the file. This will create a new folder in the same directory as the EXE that contains the files.

4. ISO Files:

a. Download and install an ISO mounting program such as Daemon Tools or WinCDEmu.
b. Right-click the ISO file and select Mount.
c. Open the virtual drive and follow the prompts to extract the files. This will create a new folder in the same directory as the ISO that contains the files.
