1. Open the “Run” box by pressing the Windows key + R together at the same time
2. Type in ‘msconfig’ in the box and press enter. This will open up the System Configuration utility.
3. Click on the Startup tab in the System Configuration utility and you will see a list of programs that are set to run at startup.
4. Look for the program that you want to disable from running at startup and uncheck the box next to it.
5. Click Apply and then OK. This will save the changes you made and the program should no longer run at startup.
6. You may be prompted to restart your computer. Click Yes to complete the process.
7. If you are using Windows 8 or later, you can also disable unwanted programs in the Task Manager. To open the Task Manager, press the Windows key+X and select Task Manager from the list of options.
8. Select the Startup tab in the Task Manager and you will see a list of programs that are set to run at startup.
9. Select the program that you want to disable from running at startup and click Disable.
10. The program should no longer run at startup and will be disabled in the Task Manager.
11. For Windows 10 users, you can also use the Settings app to disable unwanted programs in the startup list. To open the Settings app, press the Windows key+I and select Settings from the list of options.
12. Click on the Apps section and then select Startup. This will open a list of all the programs that are running when Windows starts up.
13. Look for the program that you want to disable from running at startup and toggle the switch to Off.
14. The program should no longer run at startup and will be disabled in the Settings app.
15. If you are using third-party software to manage startup programs, you can use it to disable unwanted programs in the startup list.
16. Open the third-party software and look for the program that you want to disable from running at startup.
17. Select the program and click Disable or Uncheck the box to disable it from running at startup.
18. The program should no longer run at startup and will be disabled in the third-party software.
19. You can also disable programs in the registry editor. To open the registry editor, press the Windows key+R and type in ‘regedit’ in the box and press enter.
20. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ SOFTWARE\ Microsoft\Windows\ CurrentVersion\Run in the registry editor
21. Look for the program that you want to disable from running at startup and delete the corresponding value (Right-click > Delete).
22. The program should no longer run at startup and will be disabled in the registry editor.
23. Finally, if you want to completely remove the program from your system, you can use the Uninstall or Change a Program feature in the Control Panel.
24. Open the Control Panel and navigate to Programs and Features or Uninstall a Program (depending on your version of Windows).
25. Select the program that you want to uninstall from your system and click Uninstall or Remove.
26. Confirm the uninstallation process and follow the instructions on the screen to complete the process.
27. Once the program has been uninstalled, it should no longer appear in the startup list and will be completely removed from your system.
