1. To create a new folder in Windows, the first step is to open Windows Explorer. Windows Explorer displays all the files and folders stored on your computer. You can access Windows Explorer by clicking the “Start” button at the bottom left of your screen and then selecting “Computer” or “My Computer.”
2. Once you have opened Windows Explorer, you should select the directory or drive where you want to create the new folder. In most cases this will be the C drive, but it can also be one of the other drives visible in the left pane of the window.
3. When you have selected your drive, you can create a new folder. To do this, click the “New Folder” button at the top of the window. This will create a new folder with a default name – typically “New Folder.”
4. You can then enter a name for the new folder by double-clicking on the folder and typing in the new name in the text box that appears. When you have typed in the name, press enter or click outside of the text box to save the changes.
5. You can also create a new folder while browsing the contents of a directory by right-clicking in an open area of the window. This will open a menu of options, which will include “New” and “Folder.” Clicking on this option will create a new folder with the default name “New Folder” in the current directory.
6. Once you have created the new folder, you can add files to it or further customize the folder. To change the folder’s properties, right click on the folder and select “Properties” from the menu that appears. This will bring up a window where you can view and change the folder’s permissions, attributes, and other settings.
7. If you no longer need the folder, you can delete it by right-clicking on the folder and selecting “Delete” from the menu that appears. You will be asked to confirm that you want to delete the folder by selecting “Yes” or “No” from the prompt that appears.
Creating new folders in Windows is a simple and straightforward process. With a few clicks of the mouse, you can quickly and easily start organizing your files.
