To copy and paste files is a very simple process. It can be completed in just a few steps.
Step 1: Open the file you wish to copy. You will either see it on the desktop, or you can open it from the folder or directory that the file is located in.
Step 2: Select the file by highlighting it. To do this, simply click and hold your left mouse button and drag the cursor over the file until all of it is highlighted. If you have multiple files that you want to copy, hold down the Ctrl key on the keyboard and click on each file as you go.
Step 3: Copy the file by pressing Ctrl+C on the keyboard. This shortcut will copy the file without selecting any other options.
Step 4: Open the folder where you would like to paste the copied file. This can either be the same folder or a different one.
Step 5: Paste the file into the folder. To do so, press Ctrl+V on the keyboard. This will paste the file into the folder.
Step 6: If prompted, click on the “Yes” or “OK” button to confirm the paste operation.
Using this method, you can quickly and easily copy and paste files across folders, drives, and even between computers over a network connection. For larger files, such as music or video files, it is best to use an external hard drive for transferring these types of files, as they may take a long time to complete if sent over a network or the internet. However, for smaller files, the above described method is an easy way to quickly duplicate or relocate files.
