1. Open the Start Menu by clicking the Start button in the bottom-left corner of your screen.
2. Type “VPN” into the search bar and select “Change Virtual Private Networks (VPN).”
3. Select “Add a VPN Connection” from the list of options.
4. Enter a connection name, such as “CompanyVPN”.
5. Select the type of VPN connection you want to add. The two most common types are PPTP and L2TP/IPsec.
6. Enter your VPN server address in the corresponding field. You can find this information from your VPN service provider.
7. Enter your username and password for the VPN connection. These may be provided by your employer for work connections or you can enter them manually if using a personal service.
8. (Optional) Select the option to remember your credentials if you don’t want to enter them every time you connect.
9. Click the “Save” button to save the new connection.
10. Back at the “VPN Connections” window, select the new connection you just created and click the “Connect” button.
11. Enter your user credentials to authenticate the connection and click “OK”.
12. Once the authentication process is complete, you will be successfully connected to the VPN. The status of the VPN connection will be displayed in the “Network & Internet” settings screen.
13. To disconnect, simply click the “Disconnect” button and the connection will be terminated.
