1. First, switch off the printer and unplug the power cable from the wall outlet.
2. Make sure you have a clean work surface and adequate ventilation.
3. Prepare a cleaning solution by combining one part isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol) and one part distilled water in a shallow bowl or container.
4. Gently remove the ink cartridges from the printer.
5. Carefully clean the printhead with lint-free cloth dampened in the cleaning solution. Do not rub the printhead itself, only the area around it.
6. Rinse the cloth in fresh distilled water and use it to wipe away any remaining cleaning solution on the printhead.
7. Dry the area around the printhead with a lint-free cloth.
8. Reinstall the ink cartridges.
9. Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet and switch on the printer.
10. Check the printer settings and make sure the correct paper size is chosen from the drop down menu.
11. Perform a self-test printout to check if the printhead is now printing correctly.
12. If the printhead is still not functioning correctly, you may need to repeat the cleaning process.
13. In some cases, repeated cleaning of the printhead may not be sufficient and a new printhead may be needed.
