1. Open Windows Task Manager: Press Ctrl + Alt + Delete to bring up the Security window. Select “Task Manager” or press “Ctrl + Shift + Esc”.
2. Identify unnecessary services and processes: In the Task Manager, switch to the “Services” tab. Here you will see all the services running on your PC. Check the Description column to identify which ones are essential and which ones can be disabled.
3. Disable unnecessary services: Go back to the Task Manager main screen and select the “Processes” tab. Select any process that is not essential and click “End Task” at the bottom of the window.
4. Open System Configuration: Type “msconfig” in the search box and open the “System Configuration” window.
5. Select Startup Items: The System Configuration window has a tab labeled “Startup”. Uncheck any item which you think is unnecessary and click “OK” to save your settings.
6. Reboot your PC: Your changes will be saved once you reboot your PC. Once it starts up again, you should notice a significant increase in speed.
