Digital asset manager Valkyrie Investments has updated its spot Bitcoin exchange-traded fund (ETF) filing with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). The updated filing aims to offer investors the opportunity to invest in common shares backed by Bitcoin. The shares are expected to be traded under the ticker symbol “BRRR” on the Nasdaq Stock Market. Valkyrie stated that the information in the prospectus is subject to change and that the firm is not allowed to sell BRRR securities until the registration statement is effective. This update comes after the SEC delayed its decision on the Valkyrie Bitcoin Fund in September. Valkyrie’s amended filing joins other recently updated spot BTC ETF filings, indicating progress towards potential approvals. However, several firms, including WisdomTree, Invesco, Galaxy, Global X, Hashdex, and Franklin Templeton, have not yet updated their filings. At present, there are eight to ten possible spot Bitcoin ETF filings awaiting consideration by the SEC.
