1. Open the Start menu.
2. Click on “Settings”, then choose “Update & Security”.
3. Select “Windows Update” from the left side of the window.
4. You should see a link that says “Check for updates”. Click it to begin searching for available updates.
5. If your computer finds any updates, they will be listed under the “Important” section. Check any boxes next to the updates you want to install, then click “Install Updates”.
6. Your computer may prompt you to restart your computer in order to apply the updates. If so, click “Restart Now”. Otherwise, the installation should proceed automatically.
7. Windows will now download and install the updates. During this time, you won’t be able to use your computer until the installation is complete.
8. When the installation has completed, the “Updates Installed” window will pop up. From here, you can choose to take further action such as creating a system restore point or checking for more updates.
9. Once the update process is finished, you will be able to use your computer as normal. Congratulations, you’ve just updated your Windows software!
