Updating Windows Manually
Updating Windows is an essential part of keeping your computer secure and free from viruses and other types of malicious software. Microsoft releases updates for their Windows products on a regular basis, and it’s important to keep your version of Windows up to date with the latest security and feature updates. Updating Windows manually can be done in several different ways, depending on your version of Windows.
Windows 7
To update Windows 7 manually, go to the Windows Update section of the Control Panel. Click on the “Check for updates” button to start the process. If any new updates are available, they will appear in the list. Select the ones you want to install, and click “Install Updates”. The installation process may take several minutes, depending on how many new updates need to be installed. When the process is complete, you will be prompted to restart your computer.
Windows 8/8.1
To manually update Windows 8 or 8.1, open the Control Panel, then select “Windows Update”. Click on the “Check for updates” button to begin the search for new updates. It is important to note that Windows Update can also be set up to automatically check for, download, and install updates. To do this, open the Settings menu and select “Update & Security”. Under “Windows Update”, select “Advanced Options” and make sure the “Give me updates for other Microsoft products when I update Windows” box is checked. Then, select “Automatic” from the drop-down menu under “Choose how updates are installed”. Now, Windows Update will check for, download, and install updates automatically, without the need for any user input.
