Scanner drivers can be fixed by updating or re-installing the driver.
Updating the Scanner Driver
1. Go to the manufacturer’s website for your scanner and search for the latest driver software that is compatible with your model of scanner. Download and save the driver to your computer.
2. Check the version of your current driver. You can access this information by going to “Device Manager” in the Control Panel and double-clicking on the scanner icon. Click the “Driver” tab at the top of the window and check the driver version.
3. Open the folder where you saved the new driver and double-click on its setup file. Follow the instructions to install the new driver.
4. Reboot your computer once the new driver is successfully installed. This will ensure the driver will work correctly.
Re-installing the Scanner
1. Unplug the scanner from your computer and then shut down the computer.
2. Disconnect all cables to the scanner and power off the scanner.
3. Remove the scanner’s driver from your computer. Go to “Device Manager” in the Control Panel and double-click on the scanner icon. Select “Uninstall” from the menu.
4. Restart your computer.
5. Once your computer has finished restarting, plug the scanner back into your computer. Make sure all cables are securely connected.
6. Turn on the scanner.
7. Go to the manufacturer’s website for your scanner and download the latest driver software that is compatible with your model of scanner. Save the driver to your computer.
8. Open the folder where you saved the new driver and double-click on its setup file. Follow the instructions to install the new driver.
9. Reboot your computer once the new driver is successfully installed. This will ensure the driver will work correctly.
