Compressing a file in Windows 10 is easy and can be done with just a few clicks.
The first step is to locate the file or folder that you wish to compress. You can do this by searching for it in File Explorer. Once the file or folder is located, right click on it and select “Send to” and then “Compressed (zipped) folder”. A window will appear that allows you to give the compressed folder a name. When you are finished, click “OK.”
Your file or folder will now be zipped into a new compressed folder. The newly created compressed folder will be located in the same place as the original file or folder, and will have the same name as the original, with a “.zip” extension. To open the compressed folder, double click on it, and the contents of the folder will be listed.
You can also compress multiple files at once using the same method. To do so, select all the files or folders you wish to compress and right click on them. Select “Send to” and then “Compressed (zipped) folder” as before. Give the new compressed folder a name and click “OK.” All the selected files and folders will now be compressed within the new “.zip” folder.
Compressing a file or folder can significantly reduce the size of the file or folder, making it easier to store or share. Compressing multiple files also reduces their combined size, allowing you to save space on your hard drive or transfer multiple files faster than transferring the individual files.
