To zip a file in Windows, you need a program such as WinZip, WinRAR, or 7-Zip.
1. Select the file you wish to compress.
2. Right-click on the file, and click “Send To.”
3. Choose “Compressed (zipped) Folder.”
4. Once the zipping process is complete, a new zipped file will appear next to the original.
You can also compress files using Windows Explorer.
1. Open the folder that contains the file(s) you want to compress.
2. Click on the file or select multiple files by holding down CTRL + left-clicking.
3. Right-click on any of the selected files, and choose “Send To.”
4. Select “Compressed (zipped) Folder” from the filtered list.
5. A new folder with the same name as the compressed file will appear. This will contain the compressed files.

Using WinZip
WinZip is a popular choice for zipping and unzipping files. It offers additional features compared to the methods outlined above, such as the ability to protect your files with a password.
1. Download and install WinZip.
2. Launch WinZip.
3. In the main window, click “Create/Share.”
4. Select the files and/or folders you wish to zip.
5. Click “Zip” in the top right corner.
6. Choose a location for your zipped file.
7. Click “OK.”
If you wish to password protect the file, follow these steps:
1. In the WinZip main window, click “Create/Share.”
2. Select the files and/or folders you wish to zip.
3. Click “Tools” in the top menu bar and select “Encrypt.”
4. Select the encryption type you wish to use (AES, 2K AES, etc.)
5. Enter a password for the file.
6. Re-enter the password to confirm it.
7. Click “OK.”
8. Select a location for your zipped file and click “OK.”
