Open the Control Panel.
The Control Panel is a central location where you can access settings and tools to customize your computer. You can navigate to the Control Panel by typing “Control Panel” in the search bar at the bottom left corner of your windows taskbar.
Once you are in the Control Panel, locate the “Power Options” icon and click on it. This will open the Power Options tab in the Control Panel.
The Power Options tab contains several settings for conserving and managing your computer’s energy usage. The list of options includes the power plans, advanced power options, processor power management, sleep settings, USB settings, display settings, and more.
To change a setting, click on the specific option that you would like to modify. This will reveal a window with settings that you can adjust. Depending on the option, you may be able to enable or disable certain settings, set timers for when specific settings should occur, or customize additional settings specific to the individual power option.
When you are finished making your changes, click “Save” or “Apply” to save the settings. Your computer should now follow the settings you have chosen for the specific power option.
The settings you make in the Power Options of the Control Panel can help you conserve energy, prolong your battery life, and customize your computer so that it runs the way you want it to. With the right settings, your computer will be sure to run optimally.
