Changing the Desktop Background in Windows Control Panel
Windows Control Panel allows you to customize your desktop background, giving you the flexibility to express yourself and change up your display. Follow these steps to learn how to change your desktop background in Windows Control Panel.
1. Open the Start menu by clicking on the Windows icon in the taskbar.
2. Click the “Control Panel” shortcut in the list of items on the right side.
3. In the Control Panel window, click the “Appearance & Personalization” link at the top.
4. Under the “Personalization” heading, select the “Change Desktop Background” option.
5. On the Desktop Background window, you can choose either one of the default Windows backgrounds provided, or you can use one of your own images by browsing through the list of images in My Pictures folder.
6. To select one of the default Windows backgrounds, simply click on the thumbnail of the image you would like to use.
7. To select an image from your own collection of pictures, select the “Browse” button and find the image you’d like to use from the list of options available.
8. Once you have selected the image you’d like to use, click the “Save Changes” button on the bottom of the window.
9. Your new desktop background will now appear on your desktop.
By following the steps above, you can easily change your desktop background in Windows Control Panel. If you want to change up your background often, you can save a few of your favorite images to the My Pictures folder so they are easy to find and apply when needed.
