1. Customize the desktop background:
The easiest way to personalize your PC in the Control Panel is to change the desktop background image. To do this, open the Control Panel by searching for it in the Start Menu, then select “Personalization” from the category list, and click on “Background” in the left-hand pane. From here, you can choose an image from the available library, or upload your own picture. You can also adjust the slideshow settings and the background color.
2. Change the screen saver:
Navigate back to the “Personalization” setting in the Control Panel, and select “Screen Saver” in the left-hand pane. You can choose a screen saver from the preset list, or use one of your own pictures. You can also adjust the amount of time before the screen saver is activated.
3. Customize sound effects:
Go to the “Hardware and Sound” section of the Control Panel, then select “Sound” from the category list. Here, you can customize system sounds, such as when a new message is received, or when a program is opened. You can also add sound files from your own library to create custom sound effects.
4. Adjust display settings:
Still in the “Hardware and Sound” category of the Control Panel, select “Display”. Here, you can adjust the resolution of your display and the size of text, icons, app, and items on the screen. You can also control the color, brightness, contrast, and more.
5. Modify Power Options:
In the Control Panel, go to the “System and Security” section, and select “Power Options”. Here, you can adjust how the PC will behave when it’s inactive, such as after a certain period of time, if it’s running on battery, or plugged into a power source. You can also adjust the “Sleep” mode, so that it activates after a certain amount of time.
6. Install new programs or games:
If you want to install new software or games on your PC, you can do so from the “Programs and Features” section of the Control Panel. Here, you can see all of the currently installed programs, and can add new ones as well.
7. Customize your mouse settings:
In the Control Panel, go to the “Devices and Printers” section, then select “Mouse”. Here, you can adjust the pointer speed, double-click speed, and scrolling speed, as well as enable or disable various mouse settings.
8. Create a new user account:
If you want to create a new user account on your PC, you can do so from the “User Accounts” section of the Control Panel. Here, you can create a new user, delete an existing one, set up parental controls, and more.
9. Set up Windows updates:
Finally, in the “Windows Update” section of the Control Panel, you can adjust how often your PC will check for updates, and how they are installed. This is especially important if you plan to keep your PC secure and up-to-date with the latest features and fixes.
