In Windows 10, setting up a network connection in the Control Panel is quite easy.
First, open the Control Panel. You can do this by searching for it in the Start Menu and selecting it from the results.
Once the Control Panel opens, select the “Network and Internet” option. This will open a list of sub-options related to networking configurations.
Next, select the “View Network Status and Tasks” option. This will open a new window with several options related to networking.
At the left side of that window, select one of the options: “Set up a new connection or network”, “Change adapter settings”, and “Change advanced sharing settings”.
Each of these options will open a new window.
If you are setting up a new connection or network, select the type of connection you want. You can choose from wireless, broadband, virtual private network (VPN), dial-up, and more. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup process.
If you are changing adapter settings, select the adapter that you want to configure and click “Properties”. This will open a new window with the properties of the adapter. Here, you can configure the settings of the network adapter, such as IP address, subnet mask, gateway address, DNS server address, etc.
Finally, if you want to change the advanced sharing settings, select the option “Change advanced sharing settings”. This will open a new window with all the available settings related to sharing and security. Here, you can configure the settings related to file and printer sharing, media streaming, access restrictions, and much more.
After completing the setup process, your network connection should be working properly. If you encounter any issues, you can always go back to the Network and Internet settings in the Control Panel to troubleshoot.
