The Control Panel is a Windows feature used to manage all settings for a computer and its connected networks, including setting up a new network connection. There are two ways to set up a network connection using Control Panel: manually or with the Network Setup Wizard. In this guide, we’ll walk through the steps of setting up a network connection manually.
1) Open the Control Panel by pressing the Windows key + R, then typing in “control panel” and hitting enter.
2) When the Control Panel window opens, click “Network and Internet” then select “Network and Sharing Center”.
3) On the left-hand side of the window, click “Set up a new connection or network”.
4) Select “Connect to the Internet” and then select “Set up a new connection anyway”.
5) Choose the type of connection you would like to make. If you are connecting to the Internet via a broadband connection such as cable or DSL, select “Broadband (PPPoE)”. If you are connecting via dial-up, select “Dial-up.”
6) Enter in your username and password for your Internet Service Provider (ISP).
7) Once your username and password have been entered, you can finish the setup process and check your Internet connection.
8) Click “Close” to finish the setup process and start using your new network connection.
