1. Adjust your visual effects: Go to the Control Panel, then select “System and Security”. Open “System,” then click on “Advanced system settings” on the left-hand side of the window. Select the “Settings” button under Performance. Select the “Adjust for best performance” option and click “OK.”
2. Disable startup programs: Open the Task Manager by pressing “Ctrl + Shift + Esc” or right-clicking in your taskbar and selecting “Task Manager.” Go to the “Startup” tab and disable programs you don’t need running at startup.
3. Free up disk space: Go to the Start menu and type “Disk Cleanup” into the search box. Run the Disk Cleanup utility and choose the files you want to delete.
4. Defragment your hard drive: Search for “Defragment” in the Start menu and select the “Defragment and Optimize Drives” option. Follow the on-screen instructions to defrag your hard drive.
5. Update your hardware drivers: Go to the manufacturer’s website and search for the most recent driver updates for your hardware. Install the updates and restart your computer.
6. Uninstall unnecessary programs: Open the Control Panel and select “Uninstall a program” from the list of programs. Select any programs you no longer need and uninstall them.
